This paper deals with the construction and performance of a solar powered drying system consisting of two parabolic trough collectors (PTC) and a drying chamber. The thermal efficiency of both the solar water heater or PTC and the drying system as a function of typical physical parameter and the experimental results for difference fruit and vegetable products at different water flow rate are discussed. The results of this study indicate that the present process drying system has thermal efficiency between 0.4 and 0.85 drying experiments and that the higher water flow rates increase the overall drying performance and thermal efficiency.
