Performance Analysis of CPC Solar Collector With Automatic Sun Tracking

This paper presents an analysis was made on the thermal performance of the CPC solar collector with automatic sun tracking in which the water flows in the copper tube. The results were compared with experimental results. The analytical results agree well with the experimental results in the case that the ratio of the water flow rate. It was found that the generally the water flow rate in the tube increased the thermal efficiency. For example, the increase in the thermal efficiency for turbulent flow was about 10 % when the inlet water temperature was same ambient air temperature. And laminar flow, larger increase of the thermal efficiency, as much about 20 %, war obtained. The effect of the water flow rate and initial temperature on the CPC solar collector efficiency was also discussed.
